А... Тогда понятно. Интересно: про то, что для различения прелестей такого разрешения нужно будет сидеть, практически уткнувшись носом в экран, кто-то будет рассказывать?  Хотя, если диски будут в таком же разрешении (реально, а не по формальным параметрам), как раз на FullHD устройствах отображения будут отлично смотреться. А то похоже, что текущие диски FullHD практически одинаково смотрятся, что на FullHD, что на HD Ready из-за отсутствия попиксельной четкости.

QuadroFullHD на 82" это конечно мощно... для монитора  Или для игры мускулами, но явно не для реального потребителя. Но кто же этому потребителю расскажет детали? Скажут, что надо брать, он и возьмет!

Не знаю, а что такого гавнистого в этом плейере кроме дизайна? Учитывая то, что критик пользуется акустикой в одной коробке за 200 у.е. я вообще не понимаю, зачем ему блу-рей плейер. Никакой конструктивной критики.

Забавная особенность: Кроме того, плеер воспроизвел тестовые DVD-RW со структурой BD-дисков (1080i/p, 720p, MPEG2 и AVC). Правда, не знаю, захочет ли кто заморачиваться с рипованием в ДВД, чтобы смотреть на таком недешевом плеере.

China's Blu-ray competitor CBHD brings HD DVD back from the dead

CBHD, née CH-DVD -- the Chinese version of the now-deceased HD DVD format -- is in production, gearing up for a fourth quarter launch. DigiTimes cites reports from enorth.com.cn that Shanghai United Optical Disc has laid out the first production line, although Taiwanese disc makers (already burned by HD DVD) aren't as confident it can take on Blu-ray, even with considerably lower royalty fees and hardware costs for disc replicators. Coming alongside news that Chinese-built Blu-ray players based on increasingly affordable hardware is on the way, plus a decided lack of studio support, it's not hard to see how this one will turn out (again.) Not to underrate China's national pride, but unless it can gain an unexpected foothold among DVD pirates, CBHD will probably be on the high definition scrap heap alongside HD DVD, EVD and the rest before long.

Best Buy unveils the Samsung BD-P2550

We've heard for some time that Samsung planned to have two Blu-ray players in its lineup, but it's been well over a year since there's even been a peep about the BD-P2400, now out of nowhere the BD-P2550 shows up at Best Buy stores all over the country for the premium price of $499. According to Best Buy's website, the new model has many of the missing features from Sammy's latest BD-P1500, like 7.1 analog outputs and the sought after Silicon Optix HQV video processing. What does appear to be missing though, is the elusive BD-Live, but with the included network connection and USB port, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to imagine that either Best Buy failed to mention it, or it's coming in a firmware update. Although $500 Blu-ray players aren't for everyone, it's good to see Blu-ray manufacturers offering multiple models for those in need of premium features.

Хм, BD-плееры развиваются немыслимыми темпами. И дешевеют при этом...   Она засада - когда ж их на "мультизону" поломают, хотя бы по части ДВД? С Блю-Реями ладно еще, все равно в зоне С смотреть нечего...

A spec sheet is well and good (and trust us, these spec sheets are that), but when we're talking Blu-ray players it's really becoming a question of price: when will they drop? Well, if these Europe prices for the DMB-BD35 and DMB-BD55 from Panasonic are any indication, Panasonic's answer is "not yet." The BD35 is being priced at 399 Euro, while the BD55 will go for 499 Euro. Our guess is the conversion rates ($588 and $735, respectively) won't apply here when these get shipped over to the States, but even at $399 and $499 these well-specced players aren't doing themselves any favors in a Blu-ray market dominated by the PS3. There's really nothing to say about actual "hands-on" impressions of these two, though we would like to say that we scoured Panny's booth for the DMR-BR360V Blu-ray / VHS combo and were sad to come away empty handed, our tattered copy of "Titanic" unwatched.
